Students are responsible for their own travel arrangements. EEA citizenship or Schengen-visa required, as well as EEA health card. A full travel insurance that covers repatriation is obligatory. Each student will have to declare the contacts of two next-of-kin prior to arrival.
Accommodation is available in shared flats on-campus (#12 on map, below). This requires early booking and payment by credit card or bank transfer. Details about the housing on-campus are available here.
Most sessions will start or take place at the Norwegian College of Fisheries (# 3, map). During mid-day break (12-13) or other breaks on campus, students can purchase food at the cafeterias. However, it is recommended that they bring cold and warm drinks as well as snacks instead. It is also possible to warm up home-made food in the microwaves in the cafeteria.
October is a chilly month with normal day-night cycles. Visitors should be prepared for both rainy and snowy days. Rainproof jacket/trousers and boots, as well as layers of warm inner clothes, are recommended for the field trips.
In case of health problems, take a taxi to the university hospital (UNN, #32, map) for an urgent consultation or call the emergency number 113. The student flats are within 5 min walking distance from UNN.
It is possible to use cash in many shops and public transports, but international credit or debit cards are preferred.
